Lahore – The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan’s annual WEXNET exhibition held in Lahore this year was a resounding success. With thousands of families in attendance, the hosts, partners, and public had an engaging experience over three spectacular days.
Prominent embassy officials attended the WEXNET 2023 soft launch and exhibition respectively including the US Counsel General, the Commercial Counsellors of KSA and Uzbekistan, and the Deputy Head of the UAE mission. The inaugural event was opened by the Chief Executive of TDAP Zubair Motiwala and numerous dignitaries were present.
The three days of the exhibition featured stalls like Daatchi, COTHM, Sanatzar, SMEDA, PSEB, and USAID-ERDA amongst others. The theme of the event was empowering women through entrepreneurship and promoting women-led businesses via the WEXNET platform. Each year TDAP hosts this event to promote the participation of women from across Pakistan in the mainstream economy.
Goods and items on sale at the exhibition included handicrafts, shoes, bags, textiles and garments, gems and jewelry, art and beauty products, cosmetics and herbal products, and much more.
The entertainment spread over three days featured live activities, cultural and folk shows, cooking competitions, kids activities play areas, and a whole lot more. The public thoroughly enjoyed themselves and were delighted by the sights, sounds, and tastes of the exhibits. Chef Gulzar was also a feature as he cooked up a storm with his team from COTHM.
Lahore Expo Center has never seen such a big event and this was the largest gathering of women entrepreneurs under one roof. The Trade Development Authority of Pakistan extends its heartfelt appreciation to its partners and collaborators at the WEXNET event and thanks the people of Lahore for making this a truly one-of-a-kind women’s expo.
