In a move to enhance support for the elderly and vulnerable, the Piedmont Region has announced a substantial increase of €16 million for residential care facilities. The decision, made in response to the crucial role these facilities play, aims to improve the quality of services and care while providing greater job security for workers.
The agreement, signed between the Region and representatives of residential facility managers, focuses on supporting the sector and reducing the financial burden on families. The additional funding is specifically directed towards beds affiliated with the national health system, with facilities required to adhere to more representative contracts.
President Alberto Cirio highlighted the significance of the agreement, emphasizing its potential to bolster the sector’s sustainability. Over the next few months, discussions will be held to establish appropriate rates that consider contractual renewals and rising general costs, ensuring the sector’s stability for the next three years.
