Hyderabad Pakistan : A group of 4-5 well-known troublemakers, who have been actively opposing the construction project of the shrine of Bibi Maham in Agham Kot by the Sindh Department of Auqaf for several years, forcibly halted the construction work of the department’s office in an open lot meant for a vehicle stand in Agham Kot yesterday. Today, they staged a protest in Gulab Laghari city, raising slogans to incite religious tensions. It should be noted that this is the same group that has been persistently working for the past 6-7 years to provoke a significant religious conflict in the area. These individuals have harassed pilgrims visiting Bibi’s shrine from across the country, humiliated them, and created obstacles for their visits.

In the past, they tore pages of the Holy Quran and scattered them in the cemetery, threw the wooden pulpit of the mosque outside, invited members of a banned religious organization to enforce strikes in Gulab Laghari, staged sit-ins, and organized rallies from Gulab Laghari to the shrine in Agham Kot with provocative slogans. They even threatened and forced pilgrims to leave without visiting the shrine.
These points were discussed during an emergency meeting held under the chairmanship of Muhammad Waris Abbasi of the Azadaran Rabita Committee Hyderabad in Qasimabad. The meeting revealed that some time ago, when the Sindh Department of Auqaf initiated construction work at the shrine, these individuals created over seven fake graves overnight on the route designated for transporting construction materials, halting the work. When the government approved a new project for Bibi Maham’s shrine and resumed work, the group once again placed 24 fake graves on an alternate route overnight, which has stalled the project to this day.
Yesterday, when the Sindh Department of Auqaf began constructing an office on the vacant lot designated for a vehicle stand, this group resumed their actions to incite a new religious and sectarian conflict. They organized a rally in the city today, chanting inflammatory slogans.
The meeting urged the Sindh government and all security agencies to take immediate legal action against this known group of troublemakers who persistently create religious tensions and interfere in official work. Immediate steps are needed to prevent such actions and maintain peace.
