Showbiz: We have a huge Media Industry with a lot of talented actors and actresses and no doubt many good, talented writers, producers and directors too but do you know what’s the reason that people are more attracted towards a Turkish series? This much attracted that they are translating the whole series in Urdu per episode.
The reason is 80% of our stories are on silly topics for example there’s a drama serial in which a girl ran out of her own wedding, another is a girl has married her brother in law in the presence of her sister, another one is a boy loved a girl so much but the girl married another boy just because of the concept of rich and poor and then the boy is now in a tomb. Almost all of the dramas are based on these types of stories, these types of criteria.
Now the reason why people are attracted towards a Turkish Series Dirilis Ertugrul, What’s actually the difference is that it is a mind-blowing series based on real characters, real story and obviously it’s all about Islam and is really interesting. This series includes everything like fight, love, enemies, cultures, religions, many of the wars and much more. No doubt that Pakistani Dramas are also good, interesting but the problem is they have almost the same criteria and stories with a little bit of differences.
We have so much of talent in Pakistan so we should concentrate on our stories and make our Media Industry strong. One more thing which happens in Pakistan only and that is selection in Media Industry by seeing the class and body structures of people specially girls; I’ve not even listened or have seen this type of thing in India. So I think we should concentrate on the talent not on the sizes of the bodies.
