Karachi, Nov 15: A delegation of Pakistan Southern Africa Southern Federation led by its Chairman Mr. Muhammad Rafiq Memon visited the Press Information Department office in Karachi on Friday to have a meeting with the Director General PID Ms. Iram Tanveer.  Along with Mr. Rafiq Memon, the PSATF Chief Coordinator/Head of foreign affairs Mr. Zaki Ahmed Shareef with President for Sindh Mr. Abdul Sattar Shaikh, Mr. Shahjahan Hashmani, Mr. Makhdoom Mashood, Mr. Syed Moizuddin, Media Coordinator Mr. Iqbal Aziz and Mr. Adeel Arif attended the meeting. 
Mr. Muhammad Rafiq Memon while appreciating the role of PID in providing good coverage for visit of PSATF delegation in Islamabad, KPK and Karachi, highlighted the main objectives of their visit and interaction with the government of Pakistan especially the SIFC, Ministry of Commerce and the Board of Investment, calling these meetings quite successful and result oriented.  He said that they got full support in the endeavors from the Pakistan Southern Africa Trade Federation for fostering trade volume and taking advantage of the huge multi-billion-dollar market in the Southern Africa. Mr. Memon  also called the meetings with the Ministry of Foods security & Research, the Islamabad Chamber of Commerce, the South African High Commission and then the meetings held in KPK with the Board of Investment, Sarhd Chamber of Commerce, and then the delegation’s meetings in Karachi with the KCCI, FPCCI and KATI office bearers and members and other trade bodies and manufacturing units  quite successful and expressed hope that all these developments would prove helpful in enhancing the bilateral trade volume between Pakistan and Southern Africa. Adding that the future line of action and strategies were also devised during his visit to Pakistan to help strengthen the Pakistan economy by increasing the exports to the African region.
Mr. Zaki Ahmed Sharif the chief coordinator of PSATF gave the details of the trade volume between Pakistan and Southern Africa and future prospects for enhancing it. He referred to the World Bank statistics which said that the African region which at present have a 3 trillion dollars economy would reach to 26 trillion dollars by 2050. Pakistan has only 2 billion dollars trade with this region which he said is quite low and we must take immediate measures at the government and private level to increase this volume of trade to get a good share in the African Market in future.
The Director General PID Ms. Iram Tanveer assured the PSATF delegation all possible support in its noble cause for helping Pakistan economy and fostering economic relations with the African region which is the need of the time. The meeting was ended with a vote of thanks from the chair.  M. Rafiq Memon presented a commemorative shield to the Director General PID for the support from Press Information Department, Government of Pakistan.
