Karachi, April 16, 2024 – The Karachi Film Society and Habib University
announce their collaboration in hosting the ‘Pakistan Media Summit 2024’.
Scheduled for April 16th and 17th at Habib University, Karachi, this event
will bring together policymakers, industry leaders and academia for two
days of discussions on the role of media on economic growth of Pakistan.
The summit will feature six panel discussions focusing on various aspects
of the media industry, with esteemed keynote speakers including Sharjeel
Inam Memon, Senior Minister for the Government of Sindh on 16 th April and
Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning Development and Special
Initiatives on 17 th April.
On April 16th, the conference includes sessions on “The Role of Media in
Development of Economy” and “The Potential of Digital Media in Pakistan.”
The speakers include Duraid Qureshi, co-founder and CEO of HUM
Network, Dr. Ishrat Hussain, renowned economist and former Governor of
the State Bank, Amin Hashwani, CEO of Hashwani Group of Companies
and other prominent people from their specific fields who will be discussing
and sharing their insightful thoughts on the topic with recommended
solutions that needs to be implemented for the betterment of the industry.
The panel discussion on April 17th will cover topics such as “Beyond the
Red Carpet,” “Intellectual Copyrights and the Untapped Potential of
Pakistani Music,” “Why So Serious?” and “How to increase the soft power
of Pakistan.” Panelists for these sessions include industry bigwigs Ms.
Sultana Siddiqui, Founder & President of HUM Network, Javed Jabbar,
former Senator and Federal Minister for Information, Bushra Ansari,
veteran actress, Asim Azher, talented youth singer and many others.
The Pakistan Media Summit 2024 aims to facilitate constructive dialogue
on the media industry’s role in Pakistan’s economy, identify areas for
improvement and encourage collaboration towards a stronger, more
empowered industry for a prosperous Pakistan.
