MADRID – Pakistan is making efforts for the promotion of tourism ensuring protection of natural, social, cultural and environmental heritage of the country.
This was stated by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Quresh while talking to Secretary-General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization Zurab Pololikashvili in Madrid today [Wednesday]. He said Pakistan is a rich country having safe beautiful areas and in view of the improving security situation in Pakistan, many countries have revised their travel advisory to Pakistan.
He appreciated the effective role of UNWTO in promoting tourism and conserving heritage across the world.
He hoped that expertise of the UNWTO team would be utilized for the digitization and technical assistance of the tourism sector in Pakistan.
The Foreign Minister briefed on the details of the Prime Minister’s ten billion Tsunami Tree project to make tourist destinations safer in Pakistan.
