Lahore: Second day of the bridal extravaganza was a continuation of the glitz and glamour with the country’s top artists brightening the catwalk for the country’s acclaimed and burgeoning couturiers, bridal wear designers and retail brands.
Show One on Day Two of the bridal extravaganza kicked off with Souchaj’s ‘Aks’, a reflection of the age old handcrafted techniques inspired from heirlooms, heritage and culture. This was followed by Maha Wajahat Khan’s ‘Ranjhnaa’, created with minute details and a perfect blend of classic and traditional motives with contemporary silhouettes. Up next was Shaffer by Jazib Shaikh with his collection ‘Davaam’ which was a celebration of wedding festivities where intricate handwork, floral embroidery and gossamer feel on fabric created an appealing aura, followed by Naila’s Haute Couture’s ‘Hoor-e-Jahan’, an amalgamation of the wedding celebrations with intricate embellishments, vibrant hues and sophisticated silhouettes. Show one of the second day was concluded by Abeera Usman with her collection titled ‘Jan-e-Ada’, a celebration of the festive season with an unsung tale of colourful embellishments.
Second act of the day started with the legendary cricketer Shahid Afridi stepping into the clothing industry with his debut menswear collection ‘Zalaan’. The collection was inspired by Indo-Persian art and architecture, celebrating the craft and craftsmen, followed by Samsara Couture’s latest bridal collection. Next to follow was ‘Gulabo’ by Tayab Moazzam Studio which was an exquisite combination of traditional and modern cuts with colour palette ranging from peach, pistachio and a touch of maroons. Jermyn Street by Hamza Malik was next to present his collection ‘Pasban-e-Dil’, featuring exquisite details such as the use of beads, metals, buttons, gemstones and sequins in all its designs. Grand finale of the day was by none other than Umsha by Uzma Baber. Her collection featured captivating and elegant ensembles that were painstakingly crafted with flaunting silhouettes, vivid colours and luminous stones.
Day two of the three-day bridal extravaganza also had an amazing line-up of celebrities walking for the designers – The stunning Aiman Khan and Affan Waheed show-stopped for Maha Wajahat Khan. The dashing Mikaal Zulfiqar walked the ramp for Shaffer by Jazib Shaikh, while Nimra Khan walked for Naila’s Haute Couture. The gorgeous Kinza Hashmi graced the ramp for Abeera Usman’s collection, receiving thunderous applause from the attendees. Actor Muneeb Butt show-stopped for Shahid Afridi’s debut collection while the very lively Ushna Shah and Abdul Hannan added allure to Samsara Couture’s collection. Tayab Moazzam Studio presented Komal Meer as their show-stopper and Soch the Band performed for Jermyn Street while Emmad Irfani walked the ramp for the brand. Last but not the least Fehmeen Ansari, show-stopped for Umsha by Uzma Baber.
Choreographer for PHBCW 2022 is Salwa Rafique and HUM Special Projects and Events Team, while hair and makeup is by NPro and NGents. DJ Omar presented the music for the shows. Backstage is managed by Salwa Rafique and Ahsan Qureshy is the official photographer. Show production and execution is being managed by the Special Projects and Events team at HUM Network Limited.
The 20th edition of the country’s biggest bridal extravaganza is presented by Pantene, powered by Bisconni Chocolatto. The event is brought to you by Lahore Entertainment City Olper’s, Tapal Green Tea and Food Panda.
