Pakistan and France have excellent bilateral cultural and international relations based on military, defense, cultural, educational and economic cooperation.
He said that France is one of the first non-Muslim states to recognize Pakistan, while foreign relations between the two countries have been established since 1951, which have continued to this day. Kafeel Hussain said that the first trade agreement between Pakistan and France was signed in 1966. Time ranks as France’s 65th import partner, with bilateral trade reaching US$313 million in 2009.
He said that in 2022, France exported $624 million to Pakistan, which included $197 million worth of wheat, vaccines, blood, antisera, toxins and $60.3 million worth of cultural goods and $41.4 million worth of packaged medicines. According to the latest statistics of the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis, there are 104,000 Pakistanis living in France, who are contributing to the improvement of the economy of both countries as well as in other areas of life.
He said that Paris, the capital of France, is very popular in the world because of the country of fragrances and its beauty, while its 19th-century cityscape is characterized by wide boulevards and the river Seine, in addition to the Eiffel Tower and the 21st-century Cathedral Notre-Dame. Important places like the dam have become the center of attraction for tourists. Kafeel Hussain said that with the further improvement of relations between the two countries, the people of Pakistan and France are getting the best opportunities for education, business, trade and residence, in which further improvements are being made.
