LAHORE – The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a new facility for overseas Pakistanis, enabling them to download their dematerialized National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP) directly onto their mobile devices.
The NICOP is issued to Pakistani citizens living abroad who also hold nationality of a country with which Pakistan has a dual nationality agreement. With a Smart NICOP, holders can travel to Pakistan without needing a visa.

- Visa-free entry into Pakistan on a foreign passport
- Recognition as a Pakistani citizen
- Eligibility to buy and sell property
- Ability to open a bank account in Pakistan
- Eligibility to obtain a Pakistani passport
- Right to vote while in Pakistan
In a recent move, NADRA has launched the digital version of the NICOP, allowing cardholders to conveniently access a soft copy of their identity card via their smartphones.
How to Download the NADRA Digital NICOP:
- Download the PakID app on your mobile device.
- Log in to the PakID app.
- Select the “Digital Card” option.
- Enter your contact details.
- Scan the QR code located on the back of your NICOP.
- Visit the PakID Inbox section where your digital NICOP will be available after processing.
