Establishment of the 29th Chest Pain Unit at “JPMC Karachi” as another gift for the people of Karachi. The Chest Pain Unit will link with the main NICVD, where all cardiac care facilities, including angiography, angioplasty and cardiac surgeries are available.

NICVD has introduced a new era of heart healthcare with the inauguration of “Chest Pain Units” to serve the nation at their quick approachable areas. This service is one of its kinds and is available for 24/7 throughout the year.

Operating 24/7, the CPUs offer life-saving emergency care to patients experiencing heart attacks, stabilizing them before they are transferred to the main NICVD for specialized treatment. This immediate response system plays a critical role in reducing cardiac-related mortality rates.
“Within last 7 years, these CPUs treated more than 1.3 million patients and saved over 31,000 lives who were having heart attacks but managed to reach these CPUs where they were given immediate first aid and then they were dispatched to main NICVD where they were given specialized treatment.
