TURIN , Italy – “aNUDO,” a new production by RtaMovie, is set to premiere in a national preview at the Teatro Astra in Turin on Wednesday, April 17, at 9 p.m. The play, directed by Francesco D’Alessio, features a script by D’Alessio, Lorenzo Li Calzi, and Gabriele GB Pellegrino. The cast includes talented actors from the Turin and Milan scenes: Melania Allasia, Giulia Cerino, Gaia Contrafatto, Luca Di Gioia, Davide Gaudiosi, Manuela Marascio, and Francesco Santarelli.
“aNUDO” presents a gripping narrative set against the backdrop of the German occupation in September 1943. The story unfolds in a Turin brothel, where a group of individuals finds themselves trapped in the basement as the city is engulfed in flames.
The play delves into the personal histories, secrets, and repressed fears of seven characters, who are forced to confront their vulnerabilities and shed both their clothes and emotional defenses. As the characters grapple with the external turmoil of war, their internal conflicts come to the fore, leading to unexpected alliances and profound introspection.
Director Francesco D’Alessio describes “aNUDO” as a thought-provoking exploration of human nature in the face of adversity. The decision to have actors appear fully nude on stage is a deliberate artistic choice, aimed at fostering a deeper emotional connection with the audience and prompting reflection on the human condition.
“aNUDO” promises to be a compelling and immersive theatrical experience, offering audiences a unique perspective on the complexities of war and the resilience of the human spirit.
