Karachi: The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has increased the price of electricity for Karachi consumers by Rs 3.75/- per unit.
Moreover, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved an application by the K-Electric seeking an increase in electricity tariff on account of fuel adjustment charges for the month of Sept 2021.
According to the notification issued by NEPRA, electricity has been made more expensive due to adjustment of fuel charges in September.
The hike “shall be shown separately in the consumer’s bills on the basis of units billed to the consumers in the respective month to which the adjustment pertains”, the notification read.
The notification said that additional amount would be collected from consumers in December electricity bills. It should be noted that NEPRA had held a hearing in November for the September fuel adjustment.
