Karachi Pakistan : Nepotism, a prominent and most concerning issue is gradually taking strong roots in our
society. Many young and fresh minds are facing rejection in various fields because
individuals with strong connections and family backgrounds are occupying positions that
should be accessible based on merit.
This practice is unfair to those who work hard to earn a respectable and prominent
position based on their qualifications and efforts. For instance, in the Pakistani film and
drama industry, it is often easier to be selected for a lead role if you are the child of a
famous actor or actress. Similarly, in politics or workplace in Karachi for suppose, if you
are a Sindhi, you may find yourself with a job merely due to your background, allowing
you to sit back and relax. In contrast, talented individuals must endure multiple
rejections, and even when they secure a position, they are often offered significantly
lower salaries then their counterparts who benefit from nepotism.
I would like to raise my voice against this act through your esteemed newspaper,
advocating for a system where every individual is chosen based on their merit and
qualifications rather than their connections.
