The Islamabad High Court has rejected NAB’s appeals against former President Asif Zardari against his acquittal in 25-year-old NAB cases.
According to ARY News, the Islamabad High Court has dismissed the appeals of NAB against Asif Ali Zardari in the 25-year-old NAB cases against the ex-president’s acquittal.
Chief Justice Athar Manullah said that NAB is dismissing appeals against Asif Zardari’s acquittal on merit.
It should be noted that NAB had filed a request to withdraw 4 appeals in the Islamabad High Court in the past few days, NAB said that further prosecution of the appeals would be a futile exercise.
According to NAB, the photocopies of the document against Asif Zardari are also hardly on record, the available documentary evidence is not in accordance with the law of evidence.
It should be noted that NAB had challenged the acquittal of Asif Zardari since 2015.
