WASHINGTON D.C. – Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Munir Akram has urged the need to encourage an inclusive government in Afghanistan.
In an interview with US TV Fox News, he said Pakistan, the United States and other countries under Doha agreement are working for this purpose.
Munir Akram said a high level non-Pashtun Afghan political delegation is currently in Islamabad to discuss the future representative government in Kabul.
He said it is a positive gesture that Taliban are making assurances and we should remain vigilant to monitor the implementation of these promises.
The Pakistan’s envoy said Taliban want recognition from international community and we should exploit this opportunity to ensure good response from them.
He underlined the need to form an international coalition to curb terrorism in Afghanistan.
