MOSCOW, June 1: More than 1,000 athletes competing in rowing will take part in the Great Moscow Regatta, which takes place in Moscow from May 30 to June 2. Alexey Svirin, President of the Russian Rowing Federation (FGSR), told TASS about this.
“These days, the 63rd Great Moscow Regatta is taking place in the capital of Russia, this is a traditional international competition with a long history,” Svirin said. – More than 1,000 people will take part in the regatta, who will compete in several age categories. This is student rowing, these are veterans, these are active athletes, these are amateurs. Together with the Russians, athletes from seven countries take part in the competition.” “Professionals will compete in three age categories. Adult starts will be a selection for the BRICS Games, and awards will also be awarded among athletes under 23 and under 19 years old. In total, about 550 professional athletes will take part in the regatta,” the head of the FSSR added.
The BRICS Games will be held in Kazan from June 12 to 23.
