Pakistan: According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), monsoon currents are expected to emerge over Sindh from today and the rainfall is expected in Karachi and other cities in the next four days.
As per the PMD report, Karachi will have hot and humid weather up to July 18 and the temperatures may go up to 39 degrees Celsius. The perceived temperature is expected to be slightly higher due to humidity, at about 70%.
But there is some good news the suburbs of Karachi can expect rain along with wind and thunderstorms. This change of weather is a result of the monsoon system moving into the area.
Besides Karachi, the PMD predicts rain in Tharparkar, Umarkot, and other cities up to July 21. Also, there are chances of scattered rain showers on July 18 and 19 in Sanghar, Jacobabad, and Sukkur.
Nationwide, the PMD is forecasting more monsoon rains in the coming days. Thundershowers are anticipated in Punjab from July 17 to 20, and in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from July 16 to 21. Besides, monsoon activity is expected in Balochistan, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan during the current period.
Monsoon currents are expected in Pakistan, especially in the Sindh province and other areas that experience hot weather conditions such as heat waves. Monsoon rains are essential for agriculture, filling water reserves during the hot summer months, and it is important for the country’s agricultural industry.
The PMD recommends people follow the weather alerts and be cautious during rains and thunderstorms. Residents and local governments are advised to prepare themselves for any contingencies that may occur with the monsoon weather, which may result in floods and affect normal routines.
