Karachi : The introductory ceremony of the third collection of poems “Sitara Raqs Mein Hai” by renowned Pakistani poet Mona Shahab, based in the US, organized by the residents of Saknan-e-shahar Quaid Mushaira Committee, Chief Organizer Mahmood Ahmed Khan, and the Literary Committee of the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi, was held at the Hasina Moin Hall of the Arts Council. President of the event, Dr. Pirzada Qasim, said that Mona Shahab belongs to a literary family and is seriously engaged in the promotion of literature.
He said that she is a bright-minded poet who makes external situations as well as internal conditions part of her themes. Javed Saba reiterated that Mona’s latest collection, Kalam, is more energetic and diverse in themes than the previous two collections. President of the Arts Council, Ahmed Shah, congratulated Mona Shahab on the publication of the collection. Mahmood Ahmed Khan, the chief organizer of the Saknan-e-shahr Quaid Mushaira Committee, described Mona Shahab as an important reference in women’s literature.
Senior poet Sadia Hareem gave a poetic eulogy, while comedian Khalid Irfan delivered a humorous and humorous speech to the audience. Ambreen Haseeb Ambar said that Mona Shahab holds a prestigious position in women’s poetry and is eloquent in expressing her thoughts on unique topics. Dr. Oj Kamal conducted the program.
