Mirage by Samar was launched here today amidst much fanfare at a 5-star hotel. The launch event, comprising a fashion show featuring exclusive bridal and formal wear embodying the personal style and sensibility of its CEO and designer, Samar Iqbal Bashir was extremely well-received by both the media and guests invited to attend the show.
The evening kick-started with a bustling red carpet hosted by the charming Shadab Khan, where guests took pictures on arrival, at the media wall. The well-choreographed and succinct fashion extravaganza showcased 24 stunning bridals divided into two segments. The first featured mehndi and wedding ensembles, and was followed by a break in which a visual presentation of Mirage by Samar was shown, a brief interview on the ramp of the proprietor taken, and two songs by model-cum-singer Falak Sheikh presented. The second segment featured valima ensembles in pastel colours. The entire stood out for their intricate hand embroidery, colour and details, as well as the complementing accessories and jewellery.
Speaking on the occasion Bashir said, “It has been an amazing experience and the response has been overwhelming. I had been in two-minds whether I would be able to pull off such a show given that the pandemic-fear is still very much around, but I was encouraged by my well-wishers to take the step, following all SOPs, as people are now fed-up and really looking forward to getting out and also dressing themselves up again for parties and weddings. Today’s turn-out and response to my collection has proved that they were right!”
The event management of the show was executed by Ali Malik of Vision Events while backstage management and choreography was by 021. Renowned makeup artist Shaista Marghoob and her team were responsible for the makeup of the models, while Keune did the hair-styling. The line-up of the models included Sunita Marshal, Falak Sheikh, Fizzi Khan, Sarah Asad, Fatima Lodin, Nafia, Rehma, Hiba, Urshia Hussain, Misbah Mumtaz, Maria and Dania Sheikh. Model and actor Hira Mani wore the show-stopper of the event. PR of the event was handled by Starlinks PR and Events.
