The Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA) has received applications for Hajj under the government scheme and will draw lots for them today. Not formatted. The ministry has received Rs 50,000 as token money from Hajj pilgrims and has not yet finalized the Hajj expenses.
The quota for the government scheme is 32,000 for which at least the Assis has been started but for the Ivit Hajj Scheme, the Hajj organizers have not been given the Hajj quota which is 48,000. So far, the ministry has neither allotted Hajj quota nor allowed tour operators to book Hajj.
The number of Hajj tour operators is 804. This year Hajj will be on 9th July. Hajj flights will start from June 10. Pilgrims have not been booked yet. After that, these Hajj tour operators have to book teachers, hotels and airlines. Transport and food arrangements have to be made.
The question is how all these arrangements will be possible in a month and a half. It is feared that the Hajj will be mismanaged and the pilgrims will have to face difficulties.
