Karachi – Milk sellers must sell at the official price of Rs. 180 per liter – Commissioner Karachi has given dairy farms and retailers time till 3 pm today. Commissioner Karachi Task Force has been activated which includes Chairman of Consumer Association of Pakistan Kaukab Iqbal, Chairman of Consumer Rights Council Shakeel Baig, Chairman of Consumer Eye Umar Ghori. Task Force Members Deputy Along with the Commissioner and Assistant Commissioner will check the prices in different areas of Karachi, will check the measurements and substandard items and will submit the report to the Commissioner Karachi so that immediate action can be taken against the sellers of substandard items. Consumer Association of Pakistan Chairman, Kaukab Iqbal, said in the meeting called in the Commissioner’s Office to determine the prices of milk, that the quality of milk should be checked before determining the prices of milk, because milk is an important food item. He said that whenever the government set a price, the milk sellers, retailers and dairy farmers instead of following it, they themselves increase it by 10 to 20 rupees. Kaukob Iqbal while appreciating the initiative of Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon said that it is a good decision that the official price is 180 rupees and it should be ensured. He appealed to the consumers to point out the sellers of expensive milk so that action can be taken against them. But the sale will be ensured if someone sells milk at a higher price, the government should take legal action against the shopkeepers and dairy farmers. Action should also be taken against Consumer Protection Council Chairman Shakeel Baig and Consumer Eye Chairman Umar Ghori praised the initiative of the Commissioner Karachi and said that we hope that the orders of the Commissioner Karachi will be implemented keeping in mind the interests of the consumers. The Deputy Commissioner will make sure and milk will be sold at the official price in Karachi from today. Chairman of Consumer Association of Pakistan Kaukab Iqbal appealed to the consumers not to buy expensive milk. If no one sells milk at the official rate of Rs 180, then as a consumer, file a complaint in the Commissioner’s office.
