Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that messages are coming from the Establishment but I am not talking to anyone. Numbers are blocked.
Talking to reporters at his residence in Bani Gala, Imran Khan said that he would not talk to anyone till the election is declared. Islamabad has started preparations for the march. Many options open up.
Imran Khan also said that we had no influence on NAB and judiciary but those who had influence, if they wanted, eight to ten people would be punished. Imran Khan said that if eight to ten people had been punished, it would have strengthened the accountability process and the situation would have been different, but he did not allow this to happen.
When the PTI chairman was asked why his relations with the Establishment deteriorated, he replied that relations with the Establishment remained good till the last day. There was disagreement with the Establishment on two issues. The ruling circles wanted me to remove Usman Bazdar from the Chief Ministership. If Usman Bazdar was removed, the PTI would be divided in Punjab, because no one else is acceptable to different factions.
Imran Khan further said that if there was to be pressure on the change of Chief Minister then the situation of performance and corruption in Sindh is worse.
He said that the second difference with the Establishment was on the issue of former DG ISI. I wanted the former DG ISI to stay till winter. One of the reasons for their retention was the situation in Afghanistan, while I also wanted to retain the DG ISI to thwart the conspiracy against my government, as I had known the conspiracy of the opposition since June.
“I call Allah as a witness and say that I never thought of making the former DG ISI the army chief,” he said.
Imran Khan also said that there were always such decisions that my government remained weak. He said that from the beginning 30 MPAs of PML-N wanted to form a forward bloc with us in Punjab. If it had become a forward bloc, the politics of the League would have ended, but the powerful circles gave a message to these MPAs to stay where they are.
In reply to a question, he said that besides Sharif brothers, there are also Mir Jafar and Mir Sadiq. But now is not the time to bring them up. “I also know who, with whom and when I was meeting in London,” he said.
The former prime minister said that abstaining from Ukraine issue at UN was right decision. The government’s position on this issue was correct.
Imran Khan added that preparations for the long march will start from May 20. When people take to the streets, many options open up.
