The University of Health Sciences (UHS), following the directives of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), has announced an increase in the number of seats for MBBS and BDS programs at three private medical colleges in Punjab.
The decision was finalized in a meeting chaired by UHS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahsan Waheed Rathore. According to the details, Abwa Medical College in Faisalabad, Niazi Medical College in Sargodha, and Rahbar Medical College in Lahore will now offer 150 MBBS seats, an increase from the previous limit of 100. Additionally, Rahbar Dental College has introduced 50 new seats for its BDS program.
The UHS Syndicate also approved the affiliation of Niazi College of Allied Health Sciences in Sargodha, which will now launch BS Allied Health degree programs in six disciplines. To ensure academic discipline, the Syndicate has implemented a minimum attendance requirement of 85 percent for students to be eligible for examinations, along with strict measures to prevent unauthorized absences.
