According to The Hollywood Report, the upcoming project is in early development and will be separate from a “Pirates” franchise reboot coming from “Chernobyl” creator Craig Mazin, but both films will be produced by action-movie guru Jerry Bruckheimer.

It is learnt that Hodson has been called upon to take the reigns of the new Pirates movie for Disney with Aussie actress Margot the star of the show.

Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom and Kiera Knightley had starred in the original trilogy, which became one of the most lucrative film franchises in box office history.

Robbie’s “Pirates” will feature new characters and won’t be a spinoff of the Johnny Depp movies that made a $4.5 billion treasure trove for Disney beginning with the original 2003 film based on the theme-park ride.

The new project is said to be separate from the already announced reboot of the Pirates franchise that has original writer Ted Elliott at the helm along with Chernobyl creator Craig Mazin.
