Karachi-LRBT, held its 6th Annual Charity Golf tournament to raise funds for the treatment of blindness of underprivileged patients through its network of 19 hospitals and 61 clinics all across Pakistan. 31 teams comprising of professionals from financial institutions, corporates, media and business houses participated and contributed towards the mission of LRBT that “No man, woman or child should go blind simply because they cannot afford the treatment”. Engro Corporation ltd. was the title sponsor of the event for the 6th year in a row, whereas Jubilee Life Insurance, Habib Metropolitan Bank and Orix Leasing Pakistan were the gold sponsors besides this there were 15 associate sponsors and 13 goodwill partners who enabled us to continue our work of giving sight, transforming lives.
The teams comprised of distinguished businessmen and corporate leaders who played in support of the cause of fighting curable blindness. During the closing ceremony, in his concluding remarks, Honorary Chairman LRBT, Mr. Najmus Saquib Hameed thanked all participants who donated and participated to make this event a success. He then dilated on LRBT’s recent feat of treating its 50th Millionth Patient and how it was only possible due to the generosity of LRBT’s donors. He also stressed on the fact that the proceeds collected through this tournament will enable LRBT to restore the sight of 3500 underprivileged patients enabling to become income generating members of society & able to give their family a better life. Mr. Eram Hassan Chief Information & Transformation Officer- Engro Corporation Ltd. also spoke on the occasion and distributed the prizes among the winners.
The tournament was won by the Soneri Bank team which had Mr. Raheem Iqbal, Mr. Salman Ali, Mr. Noman Khan and Mr.Zulfiqar Ali. The runner ups were Rizwan Feroz, Mr. Samir Feroz, Mr Sajid Sharif and Mr. Sameed Shareef. The closest to pin award was won by Mr. Sajid Sharif and longest drive by Mr. Hamza Zahid Khan.
