LAHORE – Lahore Traffic Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory for the three-day observance of the Chehlum and 982nd Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh (R.A), taking place from August 13 to 15.
The arrangements will be overseen by SSP City Zone Naveed Arshad, with a deployment of three divisional SPs, 10 DSPs, 111 inspectors, and 1,016 traffic wardens. To tackle illegal parking, 182 Traffic Response Unit wardens, 14 fork lifters, and four breakdown vehicles will be on duty.
Five designated parking areas have been set up at Greater Iqbal Park, Islamia High School Mohni Road, Darbar Eye Hospital, Central Model High School, and Adda Karwan.
For security, several roads leading to Data Darbar will remain closed, including routes from Katcheri Chowk, Bhati Chowk, and Taxali Chowk. Traffic diversions include:
- Shahdara to Lower Mall traffic rerouted from Azadi Chowk towards the Railway Station or via Bund Road, Outfall Road, and Saggian.
- Chauburji Chowk to Lower Mall traffic diverted from MAO College to alternate routes.
- Inner Circular Road traffic redirected from Mori Gate via Urdu Bazaar and Katcheri Road.
- No entry towards Data Darbar from Rattigan Chowk, Bilal Ganj, Berry Wala Chowk, Mori Gate, or Taxali Chowk.
- Shahdara to Upper Mall traffic diverted through Railway Station and Press Club.
- Chauburji and PMG Chowk to Ravi Road traffic to use Saggian Ring Road.
- Lower Mall, from District Katcheri Chowk to Pir Makki U-turn, will remain fully closed.
