Karachi, April 2024 – LADIESFUND, the renowned platform dedicated to empowering women, hosted a memorable Eid Milan event, bringing together a diverse array of guests for a joyous celebration. The occasion was graced by the presence of over 100 esteemed guests from diplomatic circles, corporate sectors, ministries, press, women SMEs, celebrities, fashion designers, models, all coming together to mark the joyous festival of Eid. Attendees adorned themselves in traditional Eid attire, adding to the vibrant atmosphere of the gathering which was a testament to the spirit of unity and camaraderie.
Spotted at the event were Dmitry A Petrov, Stanislav Toporov, Amin Gulgee, Shamaeel Ansari ,Atiya Khan, Farrukh Shahab, Kulsoom Aftab, transgender doctor Dr. Sara Gill, Majyd Aziz, Sana Pirzada, Aamir Butt, Faisal Lodhia, Dr. Sadaf Khan, Muneeza Labuschagne, Haseeb Khan, Mehreen Illahi, Raheela Baqai, Kiran Zubair, Naveen Balkhi, Aamir Butt, Zurain Imam, et al.
There were no speeches or fanfare, but delicious traditional food as well as plenty of opportunities for mingling, networking and professional friendship building across a very diverse and dynamic group of people. Two cakes were cut, one Eid cake brought by interfaith champion Sarfaraz Dennis Naseer, and another traditional Christian cake brought by Yoonmi Kim, who runs a church in Saddar. Yoonmi’s cake had a big “Thank You” written on it, in appreciation for the inclusion and diversity of LADIESFUND, stating it was her first time truly mingling with Muslims particularly Muslim women since living in Karachi.
“Today is officially an Eid Milan, but truly it is a gathering for the community across faith, age, sector, gender, ethnicity, region and background,” said Tara Uzra Dawood, President, Dawood Global Foundation – LADIESFUND, who hosted the event.
“A wonderful joyous event,” said sculptor Amin Gulgee.
