KARACHI The students of KVTC (Karachi Vocational Training Center) marked a triumphant journey as they were lauded by the Secretary DEPD – Government of Sindh during an illustrious celebration ceremony following their exceptional performance at the All SINDH Para Taekwondo Championship 2023, held on August 19, 2023. The event showcased the indomitable spirit of these athletes as they competed against formidable Taekwondo (TKD) club teams from Sindh, including Sukkur Para TKD, Khairpur Para TKD, Mirpurkhas Para TKD, and Hyderabad Para TKD.
The spotlight was cast not only on the remarkable achievements of the KVTC students but also on the recognition and appreciation they received during the post-event celebration. The ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of the Secretary DEPD – Government of Sindh Mr. Tuaha Ahmad Faruqui, as the chief guest, served as a momentous occasion to honour these young talents for their outstanding dedication and exemplary performance.
While addressing from the ceremony, Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Faruqui said, “It is heartening to witness the remarkable feats achieved by these young athletes from KVTC. We are committed to supporting and encouraging such endeavours that promote sportsmanship and talent among the people with special needs.”
“KVTC is doing such a great work for these incredibly gifted individuals. I would like to encourage KVTC to take a step further and lets collaborate to spread the cause of enabling the differently abled outside of KVTC. The government of Sindh would highly appreciate any collaborative effort in this regard.”, he further added.
CEO of KVTC Senator Abdul Haseeb Khan thanked the Secretary DEPD Sindh for gracing the event with his presence and his keen interest in working with KVTC. “I and my team at KVTC are always prepared to extend our expertise with government of Sindh for the progress of an inclusive society where the differently abled individuals too can enjoy equal opportunities to grow and achieve a successful life.” He said.
Reflecting on the celebration, KVTC’s joint secretary, Prof. Dr. Farhan Essa stated, “The success of these students is a testament to their unwavering commitment and the relentless efforts of our team. This recognition not only validates their hard work but also inspires them to aim higher and achieve greater milestones.”
A total of 19 students from KVTC rose to the occasion and secured an extraordinary feat, earning a collective total of 21 medals. The honour roll included an impressive tally of 19 Gold Medals and 2 Silver Medals, underscoring the depth of their commitment and their exceptional prowess in the field of para taekwondo.
The celebratory event not only showcased the sportsmanship of these talented students but also highlighted the importance of recognizing and fostering young talents in the region. The presence of the Secretary of Sindh added a touch of prestige to the occasion, as he personally bestowed awards upon the winners, acknowledging their relentless efforts and remarkable achievements.
The Secretary’s presence further exemplified the government’s commitment to promoting sports and youth development, as well as its recognition of KVTC’s role in nurturing holistic excellence in its students.
