Kutiyana Memon Hospital (KMH) has achieved a significant milestone in its rapidly expanding cardiac program, having successfully completed more than 400 Cardiac procedures, including Angiography, Angioplasty and Cardiac Bypass procedurestill November 2025. This achievement places KMH among the most rapidly emerging and reliable cardiac care centers in the region.
Under the capable leadership of Prof. Syed Ishtiaq Rasool, the Cardiology Department has developed a highly skilled team of junior doctors, nurses, and technicians trained to manage critically ill cardiac patients with competence and passion. KMH provides 24/7 cardiac emergency care, CCU management, non-invasive diagnostics such as ETT and Echocardiography, and timely interventional procedures in a fully functional and equipped Cath Labwhenever clinically indicated.
The hospital’s administration has established an effective, collaborative system to ensure consistent and quality delivery of cardiac treatment. The Cardiology Department also works closely with other specialties by providing cardiac consultations, perioperative assessments, and management guidance for admitted patients.
Ischemic Heart Disease (IHD) continues to be one of Pakistan’s leading causes of illness and death, affecting nearly 5 million adults nationwide. Recognizing the shortage of accessible cardiac surgery services, KMH established theCardiac Surgery Department, led by Prof. Tariq Azam Siddiqui.
Prof. Tariq Azam Siddiqui and his team perform a broad range of life-saving surgical procedures, including Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting (CABG), valve replacements, and adult congenital heart surgeries. The department operates in a fully dedicated, state-of-the-art cardiac operation theatre equipped with cardiopulmonary bypass systems, dedicated cardiac anesthesia team, perfusion technology, and intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) support.
Patients scheduled for cardiac surgery undergo comprehensive preoperative evaluation by a multidisciplinary team including cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, CICU nursing staff, physiotherapists, dieticians, and social support services. After surgery, patients are received in specialized postoperative care in KMH’s advanced Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU), which offers 1:1 monitoring and modern diagnostic capabilities to ensure safe and prompt recovery.
In keeping with its mission of compassion and equitable healthcare, KMH provides free cardiac services. By eliminating financial barriers, the hospital ensures that high-quality, life-saving cardiac care is accessible to all.
In just two years, Kutiyana Memon Hospital has established a full-spectrum cardiac program that serves as a vital resource for patients across Karachi and surrounding regions. With more than 400 cardiac procedures completed with excellent outcomes, this milestone reflects KMH’s growing role in combating the rising burden of heart disease in Pakistan and its commitment to delivering quality cardiac care.
