Speaking on the occasion, Vice-Chancellor, Sir Syed University, Prof. Dr. Valiuddin said that he was happy that the industrialists of Korangi were aware of the potential enhancement of the Universities students and the full utilization of their potential in industry and commerce.

There are also misconceptions due to the lack of partnership between the university and the industry which need to be addressed jointly. He said that nowadays the world is developing rapidly and in such a scenario rapid change in curriculum is not possible.

He said that 95% of the teachers who provide training to the students do not have experience of working in the industry which is why they are unable to provide training to the students as per the requirements of the industry. He said that we want to work with KATI in this regard.

Earlier, KATI Acting President Maheen Salman said in her address that Pakistani youth are full of potential. The country is not providing them with the resources and facilities from which they can benefit. When these young people go abroad for training, they became the best in their field. Maheen Salman emphasized that students in universities should be given skills that can be used to meet industrial needs.

Local manufacturers are forced to import technology and raw materials while with a little guidance they can use local resources to produce the required technology and raw materials locally. In this way, we can control imports and increase exports, which will also reduce the trade deficit and the country will grow faster. She said that there were recent examples of raw materials being imported from abroad which were being manufactured locally at very low cost through the efforts of Pakistani students.

Ehteshamuddin, Chairman, Standing Committee of KATI, said that the world is in the age of automation. KATI’s Patron-in-Chief SM Muneer vision is to take all possible steps to improve the country’s economy and empower the youth.

That is why KATI has entered into agreements with various educational institutions to introduce students to the current trend. He said we need not only engineers but also technicians working under them. The demand for such technicians in the local industry is growing exponentially.

Wajid Hussain said on the occasion that we need to focus on research. The most important role in this is played by the teachers who teach the students what is the most important need of the hour.
