Karachi (Report ) : Karachi The Young Doctors Association (YDA) JPMC, under the leadership of Dr. Mahboob Noonari, Chairman YDA Sindh, convened a crucial cabinet meeting to address the challenges and pressures faced by medical professionals and emphasized the need for immediate remedial actions.
The meeting highlighted the demand to ensure merit-based selection for the NTS tests scheduled on January 5, 2025, for FCPS and MCPS residency programs. The association stressed forming a transparent selection committee comprising senior faculty members to eliminate bias and favoritism.
The YDA also called for the re-conduct of interviews for ward allotment of house officers to ensure transparency and impartiality. Additionally, the association urged action against the Head of the Urology Ward over allegations of harassment of a female doctor. The immediate release of pending stipends for house officers and postgraduate trainees was also a key demand.
The YDA urged the administration to address these concerns, ensure a fair and safe working environment for medical staff, and uphold merit. The association warned that failure to meet their demands could result in protests and a boycott of outpatient departments (OPDs).
