Karachi: The People’s Bus Service is set to give Karachi’s public transport system a boost by introducing three new routes to make citizens’ lives easier. The project, which is aimed at the development of a public transport system in Sindh, focuses on offering cheap and comfortable transportation means across the city.
These are Route-13 Hawke’s Bay to Tower which is expected to start on 22nd July. Route 12 will be coming from Quaidabad, Korangi, and Memongoth to Tawart from July 23rd. Another new addition is the Electric Bus EV-4 which started operation from Bahria Town to Exhibition Chowrangi on 24th July. Route 8: Yusuf Goth to Tower will commence on the 25th of July.
Sharjeel Memon, speaking of the role of the government, stated that all these expansions are aimed at delivering convenient and accessible transport for every person. He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to adding more aircraft and new routes to cater to the increasing needs of commuters in Karachi.
The establishment of these new routes can be taken as a significant step towards addressing transport problems in the city and increasing accessibility. Authorities also want to increase the network to decongest the roads, enhance mobility, and encourage positive transport systems in cities.
More so, as the city of Karachi expands in the future, such efforts are paramount in enhancing effective transport systems that can address the requirements of society. The Sindh government has been quite active in this regard, which aptly demonstrates its commitment to the improvement of the standard of living and transport facilities for the people of Karachi in the days to come.
