Karachi: A Judicial Magistrate (South) has issued a detailed written order in the murder case registered at Baghdadi Police Station against alleged interstate drug dealer Anmol alias Pinky, granting police a two-day physical remand for further investigation.

According to the written order, the accused did not raise any allegations of torture or mistreatment by police during the court proceedings. The investigating officer requested physical remand, claiming that the suspect was allegedly operating a large organized narcotics network across Pakistan.

The court order stated that investigators informed the court that narcotics allegedly supplied by the accused were recovered from the deceased individual linked to the murder case. Police further argued that the accused was part of a coordinated criminal network and that custodial interrogation was necessary to arrest additional suspects connected to the operation.

Defense counsel Advocate Mir Hidayatullah opposed the remand request, arguing that the accused had no connection with the drug containers allegedly linked to the case. He stated that no such boxes or narcotics were recovered from the possession of the accused and claimed she had already remained in police custody for the past 22 days.

The defense further alleged that fabricated statements were being extracted from the accused and argued that the branding and names printed on the recovered containers were forged and unreliable.

In its ruling, the court observed that the matter pertains to a murder investigation and that further inquiry was necessary based on the preliminary evidence presented. The judge noted that initial evidence apparently exists against the accused, justifying further investigation.

The court subsequently handed over the accused to Baghdadi Police on a two-day physical remand and directed authorities to present her before the relevant court again on May 18.

The order also instructed investigators to conduct a transparent and lawful investigation and submit a progress report on the case during the next hearing.
