K-Electric Says NEPRA Tribunal Order Could Hit MYT Tariff
The power utility says the development could adversely affect its tariff for FY2024–FY2030 and is awaiting the tribunal’s order.
K-Electric raises concerns over the impact of NEPRA tariff decisions.
K-Electric Limited (KEL) has raised concerns over recent decisions by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
The company informed its shareholders, investors and market participants about the development.
K-Electric said the NEPRA Appellate Tribunal issued an order in appeals filed by the company. The appeals challenged NEPRA decisions dated October 20, 2025.

K-Electric said it has not yet received the tribunal’s order. NEPRA has, however, notified the decisions dated October 20, 2025.
The company said the tribunal may not have considered the submissions made by its legal counsel. K-Electric made the observation while awaiting the full order.
The development could have a substantial impact on K-Electric’s Multi-Year Tariff (MYT). The tariff covers the control period from FY2024 to FY2030.
K-Electric said the resulting tariff position would not be financially sustainable for the company.
The power utility is now waiting to receive the tribunal’s order. It will review the decision after receiving the document.
K-Electric said it would then consider the legal remedies available to it.
