Showbiz desk: Leading Japanese actress and singer Sayaka Kanda has died after falling from the 22nd floor of a hotel at the age of 35. Sayaka Kanda was the daughter of senior Japanese actor Masaki Kanda and 59 year old singer Seiko Metsuda.
According to foreign media reports, singer Sayaka Kanda was staying at a hotel in the northern city of Sapporo, Japan, when she fell from the 22nd floor and died. Police have launched an investigation into the sudden death of Sayaka, who has been associated with the showbiz industry for the past 15 years.
An investigation into the actress’ death is ongoing, but the local news outlet Kyodo News reported that she was found unconscious Saturday afternoon, lying in an outdoor area at her hotel, and died after being taken to hospital.
It is said that the police are investigating the suicide but there is a possibility of a conspiracy in this accident.
Kanda was also well known for her voice role for Anna in the Japanese dubbed version of the Disney hit Frozen. The actress was best known to anime fans for her voice roles including her recent project, Idoly Pride. She was also currently performing on-stage in the musical My Fair Lady and was set to appear in a stage musical adaptation of popular manga and anime franchise Galaxy Express 999. The actress got married in 2017 but it did not last long and they got divorced two years later.
