KARACHI PAKISTAN : Japan Cultural Week was held by the Consulate General of Japan in Karachi at State
Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Museum from late January to early February. This week-long
showcase of Japanese culture featured a variety of activities including workshops of
Japanese calligraphy, indigo dye, pottery making, and Origami, demonstrations of
Bonsai making and Japanese traditional martial art Kendo, and lectures on Japanese
traditional cultures and advanced technologies.


In each activity, the Consulate invited experts from each discipline. They provided
guidance and insights, enriching the experience for attendees.


Diplomats and staff from
the Consulate also actively participated and had cultural exchanges with Pakistani
people from all walks of life, strengthening cultural ties between Japan and Pakistan.
Japan Week attracted participants from diverse backgrounds, including school students,
professionals, and enthusiasts, highlighting the universal appeal of Japanese culture.
Consulate-General of Japan in Karachi will continue to promote Japanese culture and
enhance bilateral relations between Japan and Pakistan by organizing such events in
future.
