Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab while speaking at the flag hoisting ceremony held on the occasion of the 75th Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan’s Independence at Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) said that Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has approved construction of flyover at Korangi river for industrial area, this project will be developed in one year at a cost of 5.5 billion rupees.
The development work of this project will be started from November 1, while on the instructions of the Sindh Chief Minister, this project will be completed by November 30, 2023. He said that apart from this, the repair work of Jam Sadiq Bridge will also be completed this year. However, the government of Sindh has approved 2.5 billion rupees for the roads of the city which are damaged after the rains and the work will start soon. Administrator Karachi said that the Sindh government has approved many schemes for the improvement of the city, including the 14000 road in Korangi which will be built by the Sindh government for KATI.
On this occasion, KATI President Salman Aslam, KITE CEO Zubair Chhaya, UBG President Zubair Tufail, Administrator Korangi Javed Kalhor, Deputy Commissioner Korangi Muhammad Ali Zaidi, Senior Vice President Maheen Salman, Vice President Farrukh Qandhari, Former Presidents Gulzar Firoz, Farhan-ur-Rehman, Danish Khan, Johar Qandhari, Ehtishamuddin, Tariq Malik, including Hamud-ur-Rehman, Moazzam Qureshi and others were also present.
Murtaza Wahab said that KATI always has positive criticism and feedback for which I am grateful to SM Muneer, Salman Aslam and Zubair Chhaya. He said that it is very easy to criticize but no one encourages the caretakers on ground who worked day and night in the rains for the last 5 weeks. We as a nation have not been grateful, and are always criticizing everything. With this criticism, they are not defaming the name of Sindh government or any official, they are defaming their city and country. A lot of positive things are happening in the city.
KATI President Salman Aslam said that 75 years of Pakistan’s independence have been completed, today we are celebrating the Diamond Jubilee which reminds us of the sacrifice of millions of people who gave their lives to make this country and nation better. He said that today we want to give a positive message. However, in the recent rains, the way the Sindh government and all officials and employees have done the restoration work is commendable. Administrator Murtaza Wahab, Javed Kalhor, Muhammad Ali Zaidi, Moazzam Qureshi and other officials were present on the spot and all the employees who risked their lives for the rescue are thankful for saving the lives of the people in the relief for the flood passed Korangi Causeway yesterday. He said that the business community is striving for the survival and security of Pakistan because if there is Pakistan then we are there, Pakistan will always remain a proud Nation.
Zubair Chhaya, CEO of KITE Limited said on this occasion that today we are celebrating the Diamond Jubilee of Pakistan’s independence, the current economic crisis is globally which will pass in few months, and Pakistan can never be bankrupt, he said that Murtaza Wahab’s parents have many services for this city and he is the son of Karachi. Zubair Chhaya said that in the recent rains, posh areas could not be spared from destruction, but due to the timely actions of the Sindh government, the Korangi industrial area was quickly restored. The flood water of Balochistan passed through the Korangi Causeway in which many vehicles and motorcycles got stuck, but lives of 6 people and their property were saved by the timely action of the authorities. He said that our priority is Pakistan, if there was no Pakistan today, today we would not be breathing freely.
