KARACHI -Jack of Digital joined forces with TikTok – the world’s leading short-form video platform to launch “The Creators Academy” – a platform that teaches/guides new and experienced content creators, to produce “meaningful and creative” content. “The Creators Academy” – a one-day pilot program was conducted recently at the Ramada Creek Hotel in Karachi, where more than 50 young aspiring content-creators were trained by numerous successful industry experts & trainers, to understand the potential and methods of creating effective social media content.
The workshop revolved around each participant making a perfect video, during the day. The participants received expert-level coaching and creative tips about each step of the process and they got the opportunity to practically apply this learning.
The workshop began with an introduction to the concept of; the academy and the workshop by Faisal Sheikh – the CEO of “Jack of Digital and its Director – Farzana Sheikh. The speakers in the first session included: Jehan Ara – the President of P@SHA and Nuseir Yassin – the CEO of Nas Daily Global Voice for “good content”.
The second session was dedicated to Self-Discovery, where participants evaluated their strengths, weaknesses and interests, before selecting their topics and a genre for their expression. The speakers in this session included: the CEO of Bulls Eye Communications – Shoaib Qureshy and the Director of Content at Penumbra Digital and the Advisor at National Incubation Center, Karachi – Habibullah Khan.
The third session taught the participants about arranging their thoughts and complete pre-production planning aspects like: Scripting and Selection of Venue, Music and Team. The speakers included: Film-Director and Musician – Babar Shaikh along with Screen-writer & Theater Consultant: Zeeshan Nalwala.
The fourth session covered: the essential features of camera, lighting and creative shooting-techniques for perfect execution, to produce great videos. The speakers in this session was the inspirational Director, Cinematographer & Actor – Najaf Bilgrami.
The fifth session highlighted the post-production and editing techniques to create spectacular videos and sound-effects, by using filters and animations. This session was conducted by the Animation Professional and CG Artist – Irfan Kheiri along with famous V-Loggers and Visual Artists like; Umar Khan “Ukhano”, Irfan Junejo (YouTube), MJ Ahsan (TikTok), Saman Hayat Soomro (Instagram), Reeja Jeelani (TikTok) and Hamna Ayub (TikTok).
The sixth session provided valuable coaching into brand-building and commercialization of content and how to attract followers and engage bigger audiences, with memorable content. The speakers included; the Marketing Chief of Graana.com – Omar Abedin, along with the leading V-Loggers – Taimoor Salahuddin (Mooroo) and Umar Khan “Ukhano”, while Kanwal (TikTok), Faiza Saleem (YouTube) and Anushae Khan (Instagram) also gave valuable advice.
The closing session showcased the participants’ videos, to be reviewed by the experts, to select the winners. The vibrant awards-ceremony was followed by the closing remarks to recognize and motivate these passionate content-creators, after enriching their minds with knowledge. The speakers in this session included; Zaid Ali T, Sham Idrees, Shahveer Jafry, Faiza Saleem and a Senior Executive from TikTok.
TikTok’s objective behind ‘The Creators Academy’ is to enhance the skill-sets of content creators and provide them the tools to produce original content and ideas, with a higher quality. Since many social-media platforms have matured to enable a truly global outreach, more competent people (especially the youth) from all over the world, must be encouraged and trained to produce authentic content to generate revenue by adding-value to the society with their intelligence and creative-expressions.
