PTCL and other service providers have attempted to address the issue, but no effective solution has been implemented. As a result, users continue to experience sluggish browsing and limited access to essential platforms, severely impacting both personal and professional life.
Economic Consequences
The hardest hit by these disruptions are Pakistan’s freelancers, who rely on stable internet to fulfill their contracts with global clients. As a result of the ongoing internet issues, freelancers have reportedly lost around 300 billion rupees in potential earnings. Many have faced project cancellations and missed deadlines, threatening their livelihoods and the country’s growing digital economy.
Public Frustration and Urgency
Despite the critical nature of this issue, follow-up from service providers has been lacking, and temporary fixes have failed to resolve the root problem. The uncertainty surrounding this situation is growing, with the public demanding stronger action from government and service providers to restore reliable internet access. The stability of Pakistan’s internet infrastructure is essential to maintaining competitiveness in the global market.
