Quaid-e-Awam University has failed to disburse the monthly salary of May-2023 to its faculty after the lapse of 21 days narrating the insufficient funds from the Government of Sindh. On the other hand, the Government of Sindh has issued directions to the concerned to release the salaries of June-2023 on account of the ensuing Eid-ul-Adha.
Faculty members through their representatives (QUTA) have shown strong dissent over the act of the University’s administration and its stubbornness to pressurize the Government of Sind to release the funds to the University. It is pertinent to mention that on the one hand, the salaries are not being disbursed to the faculty resulting in hardship in the wake of the ongoing inflation wave and ensuing Eid; on the other hand, Vice Chancellor has started his previous policy of victimization and harassment, he had adopted during the first tenure of Vice Chancellorship.
Vice Chancellor has been also accused of female harassment in the past and has been a hindrance to a conducive environment for academic and research progress, and the University’s graph has declined dramatically over the past years due to the poor performance of the Vice Chancellor Dr. Saleem Ran Santo. Quaid-e-Awam University Teachers’ association has strongly condemned the unwarranted act of the University administration on account of failure to pay monthly salaries and victimization of faculty members to create an environment of harassment.
The Representative in its meeting of executive council held the vice Chancellor responsible for the current situation in the University and cautioned the administration to immediately release the salaries and stop the victimization of the faculty otherwise the faculty will not hesitate to widen the peaceful agitation through FAPUASA platform.
