GOA – Indian forces face another setback as MiG-29K fighter jet belonging to the Indian Navy crashed near Goa.
According to Indian media, a MiG-29K fighter jet belonging to the Indian Navy crashed shortly after it took off on a training mission from Goa’s Dabolim today.
The cause of the crash has been attributed to an engine fire and both pilots managed to eject safely, Indian Navy spokesperson said.
Reportedly, the fighter jet was hit by a bird while in mid-flight.
As the plane crashed in an open and safe area, no casualties have been reported.
Earlier in June, a mishap involving a MiG-29K jet led to Goa airport operations being suspended for 90 minutes.
The Goa airport is used for both civilian and military aircraft.
