In the petition, Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry took a stand that the Election Commission does not have the authority to hold contempt of court.
It was argued in the petition that according to the constitution judicial powers cannot be delegated to administrative bodies.
The stand was taken that the show-cause notices of the Election Commission are against the constitution and the law, and it is requested that they be declared null and void.
The plea was taken that the members of the Election Commission of Sindh are themselves judges of the alleged insult case against them.
Justice Jawad Hasan will hear the petition of Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry tomorrow in the Rawalpindi bench.
