Karachi Pakistan – Faraz-ur-Rehman, Founder of Pakistan Business Group (PBGO) and Former Chairman of KATI, has emphasized the urgent need for effective policies and government support to boost agri startups in Pakistan. He stated that modern technology and innovative business models could revolutionize the agricultural sector, improving farmers’ livelihoods and strengthening the national economy.
Faraz-ur-Rehman urged the government to facilitate investment opportunities for agricultural startups, promote agricultural research, and encourage digital agricultural platforms so that farmers can benefit from modern solutions. He further stressed that by cultivating barren lands, improving water management, and adopting digital agriculture, Pakistan could significantly enhance its agricultural production.
He highlighted that global investment in agri-technology is growing rapidly, and Pakistan must capitalize on this trend. “By adopting modern farming techniques, we can not only achieve self-sufficiency in food production but also boost exports,” he said. He added that the growth of agri startups would stabilize the rural economy and create millions of jobs.
Faraz-ur-Rehman called for the government, private sector, and educational institutions to collaborate in establishing Agri Innovation Centers, where young entrepreneurs can be trained in modern agricultural technologies. “Pakistan’s agricultural future depends on agri startups, and if we fail to seize this opportunity, we will fall behind in the race for progress,” he warned.
