Karachi Pakistan : ILMA University successfully hosted the grand finale of ILMA Lead, marking the culmination of two months of hard work and dedication by students committed to sustainability and social impact. The event celebrated a range of impactful Corporate Responsibility (CR) activities carried out by the students, each aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These initiatives aimed to address pressing societal and environmental challenges, showcasing the students’ ability to create meaningful change.
The students from ILMA Lead’s four houses worked diligently on initiatives to address critical societal and environmental challenges. The House of Water installed hand pumps in rural areas, distributed 20 water tankers to regions with acute water scarcity, and promoted sustainable water management. The House of Earth carried out a large-scale tree plantation drive, planting 300 trees across Karachi to combat pollution and mitigate climate change, while also distributing healthy fruits to 500 underprivileged families. The House of Fire conducted an awareness campaign on reducing food waste, distributed 500 warm blankets to vulnerable families during winter, and prepared 100 gift hampers for terminally ill cancer patients. The House of Air provided ration kits to 100 impoverished families and distributed 500 school stationery kits to underprivileged children, ensuring access to education.
These activities aligned with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 2 (Zero Hunger), SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-being), and SDG 4 (Quality Education) by addressing socio-economic inequalities, improving nutrition, and promoting education. SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation) and SDG 14 (Life Below Water) were supported through water conservation and access initiatives, while SDG 13 (Climate Action) and SDG 15 (Life on Land) were advanced through environmental projects like tree plantation drives. Additionally, SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) was addressed by raising awareness about food waste, and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) was promoted by uplifting marginalized communities with essential resources. Collectively, these efforts demonstrated a strong commitment to sustainable development, fostering positive change for people and the planet.
The event was graced by prominent figures, including Registrar Syed Kashif Rafi, Dean faculty of Management Sciences Dr. Raja Rehan, Additional Director QAL Dr. Fahad Lasi esteemed faculty members, staff, and influential industry leaders such as Mr. Hanif Khan, Mr. Asad Ilyas, Ms. Numaira Manzoor, Mr. Ali Nasir, and Mr. Anis Younus. Their presence underscored the importance of academic-industry collaboration and provided invaluable recognition for the students’ efforts. With support from industry, social, travel, and media partners, the event celebrated the students’ achievements through inspiring presentations, interactive stalls, and vibrant cultural performances, culminating in an atmosphere of festivity and meaningful reflection.

The event began with the official inauguration of the stalls, led by our esteemed guest of honor, who graciously performed the ribbon-cutting ceremony. Following this, each team was introduced and shared their journey, highlighting the inspiration behind their stalls, the challenges they overcame, and the collaborative efforts involved. The teams’ presentations showcased their hard work, creativity, and dedication to their projects. With the stalls now open, attendees were invited to explore the diverse range of offerings, ensuring a successful start to the event.
Additionally, Registrar Syed Kashif Rafi and Dean of the Faculty of Management Sciences, Dr. Raja Rehan, took the opportunity to present shields to the student teams in recognition of their outstanding efforts and dedication. These shields were a token of appreciation for their hard work and commitment to excellence. Furthermore, shields were also presented to the esteemed guests as a gesture of gratitude for their invaluable presence and support, which added immense value to the event. This moment served to honor both the students’ achievements and the guests’ contribution to the success of the occasion.
The evening also featured a vibrant Qawwali Night and concert, offering students and attendees a chance to celebrate their journey in a joyous and festive atmosphere. The event concluded with the announcement of the final results. House of Air finished in fourth place, followed by House of Fire in third place and House of Earth in second. The House of Water emerged as the overall winner, demonstrating exceptional dedication to their projects.
ILMA Lead has once again highlighted the power of collective efforts in driving meaningful change. By combining competition with impactful initiatives, the event not only empowered students but also inspired a greater commitment to sustainability and social progress. ?
