IBA Karachi hosted its Grand Alumni Reunion 2026 at the IBA City Campus, welcoming over 800 alumni from across decades for an evening of celebration, reflection, and reconnection.
The reunion was marked by the presence of several prominent alumni, including Asad Umar, Muhammad Zubair, Azima Dhanjee, Shehryar Munawar, Nassir Salim, Ruhail Mohammad, muneer kamal, Amir Adnan, Huma Adnan, Shahla Aly, Muhammad Shoaib, Muhammad Khawer Ikram, Nusrat Munshi, Hamza Abdul Rauf, Mahoor Shahzad, Jamal Nasir, Ali Habib, Aamir Kureshi, Talib hAIder, Moin ur Rehman, Farooq Hyder, Madiha Saeed Sheikh, Hussain Ali Talib,Farkhanda Jabeen, Arsalan Nayyar, Mukesh Kumar, M. Asadullah Kohati, and Ejaz Muhammad, amongst many more notable alumni.
As alumni gathered to reunite and rekindle friendships and networks, a full suite of activities lit up the night. Awardees of the IBA Excellence Awards were recognized on stage, alumni participated in fun activities such as the IBA Family Tree and the Classroom photo opportunity. IBA’s Board members, including Mushtaq Chhapra, Saba Kamal, and Jehan Ara, also attended the event. A number of IBA staff and faculty joined the event, including Dr. Abdullah Zafar Sheikh, Dr. Irum Saba, Dr. Nida Khan, Atif Murtaza, Dr. Amama Shaukat, Sana Tauseef, Sahar Awan, Syed Fahad Jawed, Fuad A. Mehdi, Wajeeh Zaidi, among others.
The evening featured an insightful address by Dr. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director, IBA Karachi, highlighting the institution’s three distinct Schools, its AACSB accreditation, and the growing presence of international faculty, underscoring IBA’s commitment to global standards and academic excellence.
I reflected on a landmark year for IBA, and shared that in the last year multiple reunions have been arranged throughout the world and the Alumni Excellence Awards have been met with great enthusiasm, and IBA has disbursed over PKR 1 billion in financial aid, significantly expanding access to quality education.
A key moment of the evening was the address by Sohail Mohammed, who formally announced the completion of his term as Alumni Representative on IBA’s Board of Governors. He also spoke about the launch of new alumni chapters and the upcoming elections. Six prospective candidates were introduced: Adeel Esbhani, Naveed Mushtaq, Sibtain Naqvi, Danish Kazi -BS Engg,MBA ,ACII, MCIM, Fahad Ali and Syed Babar Ali, with Fahad Ali, Naveed Mushtaq, and Sibtain Naqvi present at the event and engaging with the guests.
