Hyderabad : Zubair Ghangra, Chairman of the SITE Association of Trade and Industry, has expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of the main connecting road linking Hyderabad city to the Autobahn Road. He stated that this road is of critical importance not only for the city and its industrial areas but also for public convenience. Unfortunately, the road has fallen into a state of complete disrepair. Water and sewerage lines are broken at several places,
deep potholes have formed, and the drainage system is non-functional, causing severe difficulties for daily commuters who struggle to travel along this route.
He further explained that this road also serves as a primary route for the factories, warehouses, and commercial centers in the SITE Industrial Area, where heavy transport vehicles frequently pass. The poor condition of the road has created serious obstacles to industrial activity, resulting in frequent traffic jams, delivery delays, and significant financial losses for industrialists, which ultimately negatively impact the overall economy of the city.
Zubair Ghangra highlighted that the most alarming aspect of this situation is that ambulances cannot pass freely in case of an accident or emergency. This road is a key route to the Civil Hospital and other essential medical facilities, and its deteriorated condition poses a direct threat to human lives. The current state of the road clearly reflects the severe negligence and inefficiency of the responsible authorities.
He urged the Government of Sindh, Commissioner Hyderabad, Deputy Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, and all relevant water and sewerage authorities to take immediate action.
The road must be urgently reconstructed, broken water and sewerage lines repaired, and the drainage system restored. Additionally, alternative routes for heavy traffic should be arranged,
and an effective traffic management system must be implemented to ensure smooth transportation.
Ghangra also recommended that this road be formally designated as the “City to Autobahn Main Connecting Road” and be included in the city’s priority development plans. He emphasized that this route is not only vital for urban mobility but also directly linked to industrial growth, economic stability, and public safety.
Finally, he made a strong appeal to the Government of Sindh and district administration to treat this critical issue with seriousness and take immediate practical measures, so that citizens can travel safely and efficiently, and the challenges faced by industrialists can be resolved.
He also pointed out that during a recent meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Hyderabad had assured that a detailed session would be held with the SITE Association of Trade and Industry in January 2026 to review and resolve all issues facing SITE industries. However, no such meeting has taken place so far, which remains a matter of grave concern for the industrial community.
