INDIA : A tragic incident took place in the Indira Nagar area of Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, India, where a woman ended her life after her husband jokingly called her a ‘monkey’. According to initial investigations, the atmosphere in the house was pleasant and there was laughter. At the same time, the husband jokingly called his wife a ‘monkey’, due to which Tanu Singh suffered severe shock and ended her life. The police immediately reached the spot, took possession of the body and sent it for postmortem. According to reports, Tanu Singh was an aspiring model and was very sensitive about her physical beauty. She lived in Indira Nagar with her husband Rahul Singh. Tanu’s sister Anjali said that on Wednesday evening, the family returned from a relative’s house in Sitapur. After reaching home, everyone was sitting around and laughing happily. During this, the husband jokingly called Tanu a ‘monkey’, due to which she was deeply hurt and went to her room in anger. Initially, the family members thought that she would soon return to normal, so no one tried to stop her. About an hour later, when they called for food and there was no response, the family members went into the room and found Tanu’s body hanging from the fan. According to Anjali, Tanu was very sensitive about her career and physical beauty and because of this, she could not tolerate her husband’s jokes, which resulted in this tragic incident. Police said that initial investigation shows the matter to be a minor dispute within the family and a joke. The body has been handed over to the heirs after the postmortem is completed.
