On a special winter evening, the magnificent Beach Luxury Hotel lit up to display a foray of glamorous dresses curated by the renowned fashion designer, Huma Adnan, at her solo invite-only fashion show.
The designer, known to bring something new every year, brought a burst of colourful embroidered designs oozing energy. Set on the blue waters of Chinna creek, overlooking the mangroves at Beach Luxury with flower arrangements by Saira Saigol from Zerritta Flowers, added the perfect accents needed for a magical winter afternoon wedding. The signature Craft Stories gold plated jewellery made by refugee artisans, launched last year in March, completed the modern bride look.
Huma Adnan is known for her traditional craft and contemporary cuts which give her label a distinctive signature style. Redefining elegance, Huma’s designs are able to find the aesthetic in flamboyance and combine both together to create magically translated fashion tales.
However, Huma Adnan believes it is their quality craftsmanship which really elevates the designer label. “Nothing quite beats our craftsmanship. Handwoven textiles to intricate hand embroidery, these karigars are our unsung heroes who make fashion unique, unbeatable and incomparable.”
With each piece carefully crafted with intricate details, the outfits used clever layering of colours, textures and prints inspired by the art, craft and colours of Pakistan. Invigorating colours with clean but edgy cuts and sharp silhouettes fused together to create memorable striking pieces sure to make a bride stand out on her special day. Each piece displayed on the ramp exuded luxury while staying traditional at the core. The bridal ensembles were an ode to the intoxicating beauty and freedom that brides need to be able to wear what they want to wear on their big day to celebrate joyously.
Huma added, “My personal idea of luxury is having a voice, having freedom and clean air to breathe. As an artist, I believe my craft transcends nationalities and boundaries which is why through this collection – I want to make sure our stories are heard across borders.”
Top models such as Mushk Kaleem and Maha Tahairani were among the ladies who carried the outfits confidently in front of a star-studded exclusive audience. Among guests featuring top bloggers and influencers, a few known faces of the industry were spotted as well soaking in the mesmerising beauty exhibited.
All SOPs were followed with temperatures being taken at the entrance and no entry was allowed without masks. Sanitisers were placed all over and protocol was followed to ensure safe distance.
