How President Trump and Secretary Rubio brought

Washington: India and Pakistan Back from the Brink In what may become one of the most dramatic examples of crisis diplomacy in modern South Asian history, the world narrowly escaped the horrors of a nuclear onfrontation between India and Pakistan, thanks to the tireless overnight intervention led by the U.S. administration under President Donald J. Trump. According to a live CNN report just moments ago, a senior source present during the final hours of the negotiation has revealed: I was literally in the room where it happened… Secretary of State Marco Rubio played a massive role in this ceasefire… It was now or never, and had the pause not been secured, this would have spiraled into something much worse. Dr. Gholam Mujtaba, a U.S.-based scholar specializing in political leadership and international relations mentioned reports confirm Pakistan’s precise targeting of multiple Indian military installations, weapons depots, and forward air bases across Jammu, Punjab, and the Line of Control. The conflict leadership urgently contacted Secretary Rubio, Turkey, and key international stakeholders, signaling a willingness to pause if diplomacy could succeed. Despite India’s violation of that pause, with intermittent rocket fire continuing throughout the day, the United States exerted intense diplomatic pressure on both sides, ultimately culminating in a ceasefire agreement just hours ago. Independent observations and war-room analytics suggest that Pakistan maintained complete airspace superiority throughout the confrontation. The Pakistan Air Force (PAF), particularly its JF-17 Thunder jets, equipped with long-range air-to-air missile capability, not only countered but also overwhelmed India’s expensive Rafale aircraft,a moment symbolized by the shocking circulation of live images of destruction. Pakistan’s strategic advantage was further enhanced by its cyber warfare superiority, which reportedly disrupted Indian command-and-control systems and led to confusion within Indian ranks. Meanwhile, the Indian media, as usual, sought to distort the narrative, failing to report the full extent of Pakistan’s military precision and instead focusing on unverified accusations. Prime Minister Modi’s aggressive stance, based on unfounded allegations against Pakistan for orchestrating attacks in Pahalgam, did not resonate on the international stage. More dangerously, his unilateral actions—including the revocation of Article 370 and India’s suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty provisions—provoked existential threats for Pakistan. It is critical to remember that Modi himself had been declared persona non grata by the U.S. State Department in the early 2000s for his role in anti-Muslim violence in Gujarat — a fact well documented in global diplomatic archives. His current push to consolidate political capital by igniting religious tensions and marginalizing minorities has, once again, brought South Asia to the brink of catastrophe. Despite this dangerous posturing from New Delhi, the people of Pakistan and India, including the global Pakistani and Indian American communities, share deep-rooted cultural, religious, and historical ties. These commonalities should serve as the foundation for enduring peace, not war. The divide between the two nations lies not with the people but with the political elite. It is now the responsibility of statesmen, civil society, and global leaders — particularly that of the United States under President Trump — to bridge this gap and promote harmony among youth, minorities, and faith communities across South Asia. The upcoming crucial step is the multilateral peace dialogue set for May 12 in Geneva, Switzerland, where India and Pakistan are anticipated to present their positions. It is essential to use this opportunity to create a regional charter for enduring peace.
